SOCK-LIKE FIT / SEAMLESS COMFORT. TARGETED SUPPORT. / Winner, Competitor Magazine 2017 ‘Editor’s Choice’ award.
Nike Flyknit fabric is designed to wrap your foot like a sock for a natural, snug fit that flexes with every movement.
Lunarlon cushioning is a combination of soft and firm foam that helps absorb impact and creates a smooth heel-to-toe transition.
Based on the pressure points of a runner's foot in motion, the outsole features areas of cushioning where you need it most.
Perforations in the forefoot enhance breathability
Flywire technology integrates with the laces to give you a secure, locked-down fit
Weight: 7.3 ounces (women's size 8)
Nike Flyknit technology was inspired by feedback from runners seeking a shoe with the snug (and virtually unnoticed) fit of a sock. Nike embarked on a four-year mission with teams of programmers, engineers and designers to create the technology needed to make the knit upper with static properties for structure and durability. Then the precise placement of support, flexibility and breathability—all in one layer—was refined. The result is a featherweight, formfitting and virtually seamless upper.
BEHIND THE DESIGN
Sometimes you must change your perspective to open the door to innovation. That’s why the development team for the Nike LunarEpic Low Flyknit 2 started with feedback from one group of runners in particular: women. But the team didn’t want to just start there. They wanted to develop around women at every step of the process — with the belief that it would lead to a better running shoe, not just for women, but for all runners. Flipping the process enabled the team to gain new insights and refine details of the shoe that otherwise would have gone unnoticed. Based on input from female runners, the topline and ankle scoop were reshaped into a more non-traditional silhouette and the collar was rebuilt with more cushioning, leading to a more comfortable shoe, not just for women, but for all runners.
